Two-Year Olds

Curriculum is the framework upon which teachers can build an Early Childhood program that allows children to grow and develop as Jesus did--"in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and man" (Luke 2:52). Our developmentally appropriate curriculum is sequential and provides our teachers with a framework to support children’s learning while integrating Biblical truths and life application into every content area. Recognizing that the second year of life includes dynamic growth and development, the Two Year Olds at FBA are divided into three different groups – Transitional Two’s, Two Year Olds, and Transitional Three’s. The curriculum is composed of the following elements:

Transitional Two’s

Lifeway - WEE Learn

WEE Learn curriculum guides provide a range of age-appropriate activities designed to lay a foundation for understanding God, Jesus, Bible, church, self, family, others, and the natural world. These guides support learning centers, group activities, and home activities.

Gryphon House Innovations – Comprehensive Toddler Curriculum

The Innovations Toddler Curriculum is a complete, interactive curriculum for Toddlers ages 18 months through 36 months of age. In addition to the wealth of activities, it also includes these critical components: applying child development theory to everyday experiences; using assessment to meet individual developmental needs; using the physical environment as a learning tool; developing a partner relationship with parents; and fostering an interactive climate in the classroom. It supports learning in a developmentally appropriate manner across all learning domains, encompassing all aspects of growing and learning.

HighReach Learning

HighReach Learning supports that children learn best by actively engaging with people and things in their environment. Children are involved in hands-on experiences, real-life adventures, and assisted discovery as they explore concepts through play. The HighReach Learning curricular approach is founded upon relationship-based learning, sound Early Childhood research and theory, emergent curriculum development, project-focused play investigations, and involving families, culture, and community.
